"Simplicity is the keynote to all true elegance..."
-Coco Chanel

I'm including these photos because I think this is where friends and family started to think of me as something other than the Corporate Kinda-Girl (I was an Acquisition Manager for Exxon-Mobil Oil in D.C.). This was my first house on the west coast and over the course of several years we gutted the kitchen and baths - this was years before the notion of going to design school even entered my head. What you don't see in the "before" pics is just how heinous the master bath was. When we first bought it I was amazed at just how ugly it was: pink tile on the floor, light pink tile on the tub surround and shower, pink grout (!) and the ugliest pink flower deco tile I've ever seen. This was before digital cameras/cellphone cameras were big. So my "before" photos are languishing somewhere in a video. Believe me when I tell you that the "after" was a huge improvement!!
